KEN KELLY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Golf Tournament
The 1st annual Ken Kelly Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament was an extraordinary event which launched the foundation’s work to inspire more young people to live like Ken: a life rooted in love, leadership, and family.
We are proud to announce the
3rd Annual Golf Tournament
Hatherly Country Club, Monday October 20th
With your help, the Ken Kelly Memorial Scholarship Foundation proudly awarded scholarships to 22 extraordinary Scituate High School graduates this past June. Other ways the foundation made an impact this past year:
Donated one $2400 scholarship to Ken's almamater Ogdensburg Free Academy. His football jersey was 24, hence the $2,400. The kid who won Austin Thornberry lived like Ken and is a good athlete going onto college. Sarah can you update this on July 1, he won't get the scholarship until later in June.
Donated to SHS All Night Party ($250) - to support the kids he coached in a fun and reassuring way.
Donated to Scituate Gridiron ($10,000) - to cover costs to Gillette superbowl and rings for the families who couldn't afford it, many of these boys played under him and was a nice way for Ken to be a part of it
Covered the Superbowl pregame social for the football families ($1,343) - he would have loved to have bought people a beer!
Donated to Bill & Michelle Johnston ($2,500) - Scitaute family whose son is now quadraplegic after a fall during his senior week at Middlebury, also cousin of Sean Morris who co-owns Laxachusetts and has been supportive of Ken's Foundation - and Ken and I both have uncles who are quadriplegics so I know he would have wanted to support.
As Laurie says, “I have never felt the love of our community quite like this. It is a bittersweet moment for George, Anna and me as we realize Ken's legacy will continue to inspire so many young people.”
